When Jared had lived 162 years, he fathered Enoch.

Jared lived after he fathered Enoch 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
→(wayhi yered ahare howlidow et hanowk šemoneh meowt šanah wayowled banim ubanowt) וַיְחִי־יֶרֶד אַחֲרֵי הֹולִידֹו אֶת־חֲנֹוךְ שְׁמֹנֶה מֵאֹות שָׁנָה וַיֹּולֶד בָּנִים וּבָנֹות׃

Thus all the days of Jared were 962 years, and he died.
→(wayihu kal yeme yered šetayim wešiššim šanah uteša meowt šanah wayamot) וַיִּהְיוּ כָּל־יְמֵי־יֶרֶד שְׁתַּיִם וְשִׁשִּׁים שָׁנָה וּתְשַׁע מֵאֹות שָׁנָה וַיָּמֹת׃

When Enoch had lived 65 years, he fathered Methuselah.
→(wayhi hanowk hameš wešiššim šanah wayowled et metušalah) וַיְחִי חֲנֹוךְ חָמֵשׁ וְשִׁשִּׁים שָׁנָה וַיֹּולֶד אֶת־מְתוּשָׁלַח׃

Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters.
→(wayithallek hanowk et haelohim ahare howlidow et metušelah šeloš meowt šanah wayyowled banim ubanowt) וַיִּתְהַלֵּךְ חֲנֹוךְ אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים אַחֲרֵי הֹולִידֹו אֶת־מְתוּשֶׁלַח שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאֹות שָׁנָה וַיֹּולֶד בָּנִים וּבָנֹות׃

Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years.
→(wayhi kal yemen hanowk hameš ešišim šanah ušeleš meowt šanah) וַיְהִי כָּל־יְמֵי חֲנֹוךְ חָמֵשׁ וְשִׁשִּׁים שָׁנָה וּשְׁלֹשׁ מֵאֹות שָׁנָה׃

Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.
→(wayyitalek hanowk et haelohim weenenu ki laqah otow elohim) וַיִּתְהַלֵּךְ חֲנֹוךְ אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים וְאֵינֶנּוּ כִּי־לָקַח אֹתֹו אֱלֹהִים׃

When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he fathered Lamech.
→(wayhi metušelah šeba ušemanim šanah umeat šanah wayowled et lamek) וַיְחִי מְתוּשֶׁלַח שֶׁבַע וּשְׁמֹנִים שָׁנָה וּמְאַת שָׁנָה וַיֹּולֶד אֶת־לָמֶךְ׃

Methuselah lived after he fathered Lamech 782 years and had other sons and daughters.
→(wayhi metušelah ahare holidow et lemek šetayim ušemownim šanah ušeba meowt šanah wayowled banim ubanowt) וַיְחִי מְתוּשֶׁלַח אַחֲרֵי הֹולִידֹו אֶת־לֶמֶךְ שְׁתַּיִם וּשְׁמֹונִים שָׁנָה וּשְׁבַע מֵאֹות שָׁנָה וַיֹּולֶד בָּנִים וּבָנֹות׃

(wayyhihu kal yme metušelah teša wešišim šanah uteša meowt šanah wayamot) וַיִּהְיוּ כָּל־יְמֵי מְתוּשֶׁלַח תֵּשַׁע וְשִׁשִּׁים שָׁנָה וּתְשַׁע מֵאֹות שָׁנָה וַיָּמֹת׃
→Thus all the days of Methuselah were 969 years, and he died.

When Lamech had lived 182 years, he fathered a son.
→(wayi lemek šatayim ušemonim šanah umeat šanah wayowled ben) וַיְחִי־לֶמֶךְ שְׁתַּיִם וּשְׁמֹנִים שָׁנָה וּמְאַת שָׁנָה וַיֹּולֶד בֵּן׃

and called his name Noah, saying, “Out of the ground that the LORD has cursed, this one shall bring us reliefd from our work and from the painful toil of our hands.”
→(wayiqra et šemow noah lemor zeh yenahamenu mimmaašenu umeisebown yadenu min haadamah ašer ererah yahweh) וַיִּקְרָא אֶת־שְׁמֹו נֹחַ לֵאמֹר זֶה יְנַחֲמֵנוּ מִמַּעֲשֵׂנוּ וּמֵעִצְּבֹון יָדֵינוּ מִן־הָאֲדָמָה אֲשֶׁר אֵרְרָהּ יְהוָה׃

Lamech lived after he fathered Noah 595 years and had other sons and daughters.
→(wayhi lemek ahare howlidow et noah hameš wetišim šanah wahameš meot šanah wayowled banim ubanowt) וַיְחִי־לֶמֶךְ אַחֲרֵי הֹולִידֹו אֶת־נֹחַ חָמֵשׁ וְתִשְׁעִים שָׁנָה וַחֲמֵשׁ מֵאֹת שָׁנָה וַיֹּולֶד בָּנִים וּבָנֹות׃

Thus all the days of Lamech were 777 years, and he died.
→(wayhi kal yeme lemek šeba wešibim šanah ušeba meowt šanah wayamot ) וַיְהִי כָּל־יְמֵי־לֶמֶךְ שֶׁבַע וְשִׁבְעִים שָׁנָה וּשְׁבַע מֵאֹות שָׁנָה וַיָּמֹת׃

(wayhi noah ben hameš meowt šanah wayowled noah et šem et ham weey yabet) וַיְהִי־נֹחַ בֶּן־חֲמֵשׁ מֵאֹות שָׁנָה וַיֹּולֶד נֹחַ אֶת־שֵׁם אֶת־חָם וְאֶת־יָפֶת׃
→After Noah was 500 years old, Noah fathered Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them,
→(wayhi ki hehel haadam larob al pene haadamah ubanowt yuledu lahem) וַיְהִי כִּי־הֵחֵל הָאָדָם לָרֹב עַל־פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה וּבָנֹות יֻלְּדוּ לָהֶם׃

the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose.
→(wayyiru bene haelohom et benowt haadam ki tobot hennah wayyiqhu lahem našim mikkol ašer baharu) וַיִּרְאוּ בְנֵי־הָאֱלֹהִים אֶת־בְּנֹות הָאָדָם כִּי טֹבֹת הֵנָּה וַיִּקְחוּ לָהֶם נָשִׁים מִכֹּל אֲשֶׁר בָּחָרוּ׃

Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.”
→(wayyomer yahweh lo yadown ruhi baadam leolam bešaggam hu bašar wahayu yamaw meah weesrim šanah ) וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה לֹא־יָדֹון רוּחִי בָאָדָם לְעֹלָם בְּשַׁגַּם הוּא בָשָׂר וְהָיוּ יָמָיו מֵאָה וְעֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה׃

The Nephilimb were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown.
→(hannapiim hayu baares bayyamim hahem wegam ahare ken ašer yabou bene haelohim el benowt haadam weyaledu lahem hemmah haggibborim ašer meowlam anše haššem) הַנְּפִלִים הָיוּ בָאָרֶץ בַּיָּמִים הָהֵם וְגַם אַחֲרֵי־כֵן אֲשֶׁר יָבֹאוּ בְּנֵי הָאֱלֹהִים אֶל־בְּנֹות הָאָדָם וְיָלְדוּ לָהֶם הֵמָּה הַגִּבֹּרִים אֲשֶׁר מֵעֹולָם אַנְשֵׁי הַשֵּׁם׃

The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
→(wayyomer yahweh lo yadown ruhi baadam leolam bešaggam hu bašar wahayu yamaw meah weesrim šanah ) וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה לֹא־יָדֹון רוּחִי בָאָדָם לְעֹלָם בְּשַׁגַּם הוּא בָשָׂר וְהָיוּ יָמָיו מֵאָה וְעֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה׃

And the LORD regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.
→ (wayyinnahem yahweh ki asah et haadam baares wayitaseb el libbow) וַיִּנָּחֶם יְהוָה כִּי־עָשָׂה אֶת־הָאָדָם בָּאָרֶץ וַיִּתְעַצֵּב אֶל־לִבֹּו׃

So the LORD said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.”
→(wayyomer yahweh emheh et haadam ašer barati meal pene haadamah meadam ad behemah ad remeš wead owp haššamayim ki nihamti ki asitim ) וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶמְחֶה אֶת־הָאָדָם אֲשֶׁר־בָּרָאתִי מֵעַל פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה מֵאָדָם עַד־בְּהֵמָה עַד־רֶמֶשׂ וְעַד־עֹוף הַשָּׁמָיִם כִּי נִחַמְתִּי כִּי עֲשִׂיתִם׃

But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.
→(wenoah masa hen beene yahweh) וְנֹחַ מָצָא חֵן בְּעֵינֵי יְהוָה׃

(elleh towldot noah noah iš saddiq tanim hayah bedorotav et haelohim hitalek noah) אֵלֶּה תֹּולְדֹת נֹחַ נֹחַ אִישׁ צַדִּיק תָּמִים הָיָה בְּדֹרֹתָיו אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים הִתְהַלֶּךְ־נֹחַ׃
→Dies ist das Geschlecht Noahs. Noah war ein frommer Mann und ohne Tadel und führte ein göttliches Leben zu seinen Zeiten.

And Noah had three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
→(wayyowled noah šelošah banim et šem et ham weet yapet) וַיֹּולֶד נֹחַ שְׁלֹשָׁה בָנִים אֶת־שֵׁם אֶת־חָם וְאֶת־יָפֶת׃

Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with violence.
→(watiššahet haares lipné haelohim watimmalé haares hamas) וַתִּשָּׁחֵת הָאָרֶץ לִפְנֵי הָאֱלֹהִים וַתִּמָּלֵא הָאָרֶץ חָמָס׃

And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
→(wayyar elohim et haares wehinneh nišhatah ki hišit kal basar et darkow al haares) וַיַּרְא אֱלֹהִים אֶת־הָאָרֶץ וְהִנֵּה נִשְׁחָתָה כִּי־הִשְׁחִית כָּל־בָּשָׂר אֶת־דַּרְכֹּו עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃

And God said to Noah, “I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
→(wayyomer elohim lenoah qes kal basar ba lepanay ki maleah haares hamas mippenehem wehinni mašhitam et haares) וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים לְנֹחַ קֵץ כָּל־בָּשָׂר בָּא לְפָנַי כִּי־מָלְאָה הָאָרֶץ חָמָס מִפְּנֵיהֶם וְהִנְנִי מַשְׁחִיתָם אֶת־הָאָרֶץ׃

Make yourself an ark of gopher wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch.
→(aseh leka tebat ase goper qinnim taaseh et hattebah wekaparta otah mibbayit umihus bakkoper) עֲשֵׂה לְךָ תֵּבַת עֲצֵי־גֹפֶר קִנִּים תַּעֲשֶׂה אֶת־הַתֵּבָה וְכָפַרְתָּ אֹתָהּ מִבַּיִת וּמִחוּץ בַּכֹּפֶר׃

This is how you are to make it: the length of the ark 300 cubits, its breadth 50 cubits, and its height 30 cubits.
→ (wezeh ašer taašeh otah šeloš meowt ammah orek hattebah hamiššim ammah rahebah ušelošim ammah qowmatah) וְזֶה אֲשֶׁר תַּעֲשֶׂה אֹתָהּ שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאֹות אַמָּה אֹרֶךְ הַתֵּבָה חֲמִשִּׁים אַמָּה רָחְבָּהּ וּשְׁלֹשִׁים אַמָּה קֹומָתָהּ׃

Make a rooff for the ark, and finish it to a cubit above, and set the door of the ark in its side. Make it with lower, second, and third decks.
→(sohar taaseh lattebah weel ammah tekalennah milmalah upetah hattebah besidah tašim tahtiyym šeniym ušelišim taašeha) צֹהַר ׀ תַּעֲשֶׂה לַתֵּבָה וְאֶל־אַמָּה תְּכַלֶנָּה מִלְמַעְלָה וּפֶתַח הַתֵּבָה בְּצִדָּהּ תָּשִׂים תַּחְתִּיִּם שְׁנִיִּם וּשְׁלִשִׁים תַּעֲשֶׂהָ׃

For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven. Everything that is on the earth shall die.
→(waani hinni mebi et hammabul mayim al haares lešahet kal basar aser bow ruah hayyim mittahat haššamayim kol ašer baares yigwa) וַאֲנִי הִנְנִי מֵבִיא אֶת־הַמַּבּוּל מַיִם עַל־הָאָרֶץ לְשַׁחֵת כָּל־בָּשָׂר אֲשֶׁר־בֹּו רוּחַ חַיִּים מִתַּחַת הַשָּׁמָיִם כֹּל אֲשֶׁר־בָּאָרֶץ יִגְוָע׃

But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.
→(wahaqimoti et beriti ittak ubata el hattebah attah ubaneka weišteka uneše baneka ittak) וַהֲקִמֹתִי אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אִתָּךְ וּבָאתָ אֶל־הַתֵּבָה אַתָּה וּבָנֶיךָ וְאִשְׁתְּךָ וּנְשֵׁי־בָנֶיךָ אִתָּךְ׃

And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ark to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.
→(umikal hahay mkal bašar šenaim mikol tabi el hattebah lehahayot ittak zakar uneqebah) וּמִכָּל־הָחַי מִכָּל־בָּשָׂר שְׁנַיִם מִכֹּל תָּבִיא אֶל־הַתֵּבָה לְהַחֲיֹת אִתָּךְ זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה יִהְיוּ׃

Of the birds according to their kinds, and of the animals according to their kinds, of every creeping thing of the ground, according to its kind, two of every sort shall come in to you to keep them alive.
→(mehaowp leminegu umin habbehemah leminah mikkol remeš haadamah leminehu šenayim mikkol yabou eleka lehahayowt) מֵהָעֹוף לְמִינֵהוּ וּמִן־הַבְּהֵמָה לְמִינָהּ מִכֹּל רֶמֶשׂ הָאֲדָמָה לְמִינֵהוּ שְׁנַיִם מִכֹּל יָבֹאוּ אֵלֶיךָ לְהַחֲיֹות׃

Also take with you every sort of food that is eaten, and store it up. It shall serve as food for you and for them.”
→(weattah qah leka mikkal maakal ašer yeakel weasapta eleka wehayah leka welahem leaklah) וְאַתָּה קַח־לְךָ מִכָּל־מַאֲכָל אֲשֶׁר יֵאָכֵל וְאָסַפְתָּ אֵלֶיךָ וְהָיָה לְךָ וְלָהֶם לְאָכְלָה׃

Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him.
→(wayyaas noah kekol ašer siwwah otow elohim ken asah) וַיַּעַשׂ נֹחַ כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה אֹתֹו אֱלֹהִים כֵּן עָשָׂה׃

Then the LORD said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation.
→(wayyomer yahweh lenoah bo attah wekal beteka el hattebah ki oteka raiti saddiq lepanay baddowr hazzeh) וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה לְנֹחַ בֹּא־אַתָּה וְכָל־בֵּיתְךָ אֶל־הַתֵּבָה כִּי־אֹתְךָ רָאִיתִי

Take with you seven pairs of all clean animals, the male and his mate, and a pair of the animals that are not clean, the male and his mate,
→(mikkol habbehemah hattehowrah tiqqah leka šibah šibah iš weištow umin habbehemah ašer lo tehorah hi šenayim iš weištow) מִכֹּל ׀ הַבְּהֵמָה הַטְּהֹורָה תִּקַּח־לְךָ שִׁבְעָה שִׁבְעָה אִישׁ וְאִשְׁתֹּו וּמִן־הַבְּהֵמָה אֲשֶׁר לֹא טְהֹרָה הִוא שְׁנַיִם אִישׁ וְאִשְׁתֹּו׃

and seven pairs of the birds of the heavens also, male and female, to keep their offspring alive on the face of all the earth.
→(gam meowp haššamayim šibah šibah zakar uneqebah lehayyowt zera al pene kal haares) גַּם מֵעֹוף הַשָּׁמַיִם שִׁבְעָה שִׁבְעָה זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה לְחַיֹּות זֶרַע עַל־פְּנֵי כָל־הָאָרֶץ׃

For in seven days I will send rain on the earth forty days and forty nights, and every living thing that I have made I will blot out from the face of the ground.”
→(ki leyamim owd šibah anoki mamtir al haares arbaim yowm wearbaim layelah umahiti et kal hayqum ašer ašiti meal pene haadamah) כִּי לְיָמִים עֹוד שִׁבְעָה אָנֹכִי מַמְטִיר עַל־הָאָרֶץ אַרְבָּעִים יֹום וְאַרְבָּעִים לָיְלָה

And Noah did all that the LORD had commanded him.
→(wayyaas noah kekol ašer siwahu yahweh) וַיַּעַשׂ נֹחַ כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּהוּ יְהוָה׃

Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters came upon the earth.
→(wenoha ben šeš meowt šanah wehammabul hayah mayim al haares) וְנֹחַ בֶּן־שֵׁשׁ מֵאֹות שָׁנָה וְהַמַּבּוּל הָיָה מַיִם עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃

And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him went into the ark to escape the waters of the flood.
→(wayyabo noah ubanaw weištow uneše banaw ittow el hattebah mippene me hammabul) וַיָּבֹא נֹחַ וּבָנָיו וְאִשְׁתֹּו וּנְשֵׁי־בָנָיו אִתֹּו אֶל־הַתֵּבָה מִפְּנֵי מֵי הַמַּבּוּל׃

Of clean animals, and of animals that are not clean, and of birds, and of everything that creeps on the ground,
→(min habbehemah hatteowrah umin habbehemah ašer enenah tehorah umin haowp wekol ašer romeš al haadamah) מִן־הַבְּהֵמָה הַטְּהֹורָה וּמִן־הַבְּהֵמָה אֲשֶׁר אֵינֶנָּה טְהֹרָה וּמִן־הָעֹוף וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר־רֹמֵשׂ עַל־הָאֲדָמָה׃

two and two, male and female, went into the ark with Noah, as God had commanded Noah.
→(šenayim šenayim bau el noah el hattebah zakar uneqebah kaašer siwwah elohim et noah) שְׁנַיִם שְׁנַיִם בָּאוּ אֶל־נֹחַ אֶל־הַתֵּבָה זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה אֱלֹהִים אֶת־נֹחַ׃

And after seven days the waters of the flood came upon the earth.
→(wayhi lešibat hayyamim umé hammabul hayu al haares) וַיְהִי לְשִׁבְעַת הַיָּמִים וּמֵי הַמַּבּוּל הָיוּ עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃

In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened.
→(bišnat šeš meowt šanah lehayye noah bahodeš haššeni bešibah asar yown lahodeš bayyowm hazzeh nibqru kal mayenot tehowm rabbah waarubbot haššamayim niptahu) בִּשְׁנַת שֵׁשׁ־מֵאֹות שָׁנָה לְחַיֵּי־נֹחַ בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַשֵּׁנִי בְּשִׁבְעָה־עָשָׂר יֹום לַחֹדֶשׁ בַּיֹּום הַזֶּה נִבְקְעוּ כָּל־מַעְיְנֹת תְּהֹום רַבָּה וַאֲרֻבֹּת הַשָּׁמַיִם נִפְתָּחוּ׃

And rain fell upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
→(wayhi haggešem al haares arbaim yowm wearbaim layelah) וַיְהִי הַגֶּשֶׁם עַל־הָאָרֶץ אַרְבָּעִים יֹום וְאַרְבָּעִים לָיְלָה׃

On the very same day Noah and his sons, Shem and Ham and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them entered the ark,
→(beesem hayyowm hazeh ba noah wešem weham wayepet bene noah weešet noah ušelošet neše banaw ittam el hattebah) בְּעֶצֶם הַיֹּום הַזֶּה בָּא נֹחַ וְשֵׁם־וְחָם וָיֶפֶת בְּנֵי־נֹחַ וְאֵשֶׁת נֹחַ וּשְׁלֹשֶׁת נְשֵׁי־בָנָיו אִתָּם אֶל־הַתֵּבָה׃

they and every beast, according to its kind, and all the livestock according to their kinds, and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, according to its kind, and every bird, according to its kind, every winged creature.
→(hemmah wekal hahayyah leminah wekal habbehamah leminah wekal haremeš haromeš al haares leminehu wekal haowp leminehu kol sippowr kal kanap) הֵמָּה וְכָל־הַחַיָּה לְמִינָהּ וְכָל־הַבְּהֵמָה לְמִינָהּ וְכָל־הָרֶמֶשׂ הָרֹמֵשׂ עַל־הָאָרֶץ לְמִינֵהוּ וְכָל־הָעֹוף לְמִינֵהוּ כֹּל צִפֹּור כָּל־כָּנָף׃

They went into the ark with Noah, two and two of all flesh in which there was the breath of life.
→(vyabou el noah el hattebah šenayim šenayim mikkal habbasar ašer bow ruah) וַיָּבֹאוּ אֶל־נֹחַ אֶל־הַתֵּבָה שְׁנַיִם שְׁנַיִם מִכָּל־הַבָּשָׂר אֲשֶׁר־בֹּו רוּחַ חַיִּים׃

And those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him. And the LORD shut him in.
→(wehabbaim zakar uneqebah mikkal basar bau kaašer siwwah otow elohim wayyisgor yahweh baadow) וְהַבָּאִים זָכָר וּנְקֵבָה מִכָּל־בָּשָׂר בָּאוּ כַּאֲשֶׁר צִוָּה אֹתֹו אֱלֹהִים וַיִּסְגֹּר יְהוָה בַּעֲדֹו׃

The flood continued forty days on the earth. The waters increased and bore up the ark, and it rose high above the earth.
→(wayhi hammabul arbaim yowm al haares wayyirbu hammayim wayyišu et hattebah wattaram meal haares) וַיְהִי הַמַּבּוּל אַרְבָּעִים יֹום עַל־הָאָרֶץ וַיִּרְבּוּ הַמַּיִם וַיִּשְׂאוּ אֶת־הַתֵּבָה וַתָּרָם מֵעַל הָאָרֶץ׃

The waters prevailed and increased greatly on the earth, and the ark floated on the face of the waters.
→(wayyigberu hammayim wayyirbu meod al haares wattelek hattebah al pene hammayim) וַיִּגְבְּרוּ הַמַּיִם וַיִּרְבּוּ מְאֹד עַל־הָאָרֶץ וַתֵּלֶךְ הַתֵּבָה עַל־פְּנֵי הַמָּיִם׃

The flood continued forty days on the earth. The waters increased and bore up the ark, and it rose high above the earth.
→(wehammayim gaberu meod meod al haares waykusu kal heharim haggeborim ašer tarat kal haššamayim) וְהַמַּיִם גָּבְרוּ מְאֹד מְאֹד עַל־הָאָרֶץ וַיְכֻסּוּ כָּל־הֶהָרִים הַגְּבֹהִים אֲשֶׁר־תַּחַת כָּל־הַשָּׁמָיִם׃

(hameš esreh ammah milmalah gaberu hammayim waykusu heharim) חֲמֵשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה אַמָּה מִלְמַעְלָה גָּבְרוּ הַמָּיִם וַיְכֻסּוּ הֶהָרִים׃
→The waters prevailed above the mountains, covering them fifteen cubits deep.

And all flesh died that moved on the earth, birds, livestock, beasts, all swarming creatures that swarm on the earth, and all mankind.
→(wayyigwa kal bašar haromeš al haares baowp ubabehemah ubahayah ubekal haššeres haššores al haares wekol haadam) וַיִּגְוַע כָּל־בָּשָׂר ׀ הָרֹמֵשׂ עַל־הָאָרֶץ בָּעֹוף וּבַבְּהֵמָה וּבַחַיָּה וּבְכָל־הַשֶּׁרֶץ הַשֹּׁרֵץ עַל־הָאָרֶץ וְכֹל הָאָדָם׃

Everything on the dry land in whose nostrils was the breath of life died.
→(kol ašer nišmat ruah hayyim beappaw mikol ašer beharabah metu) כֹּל אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁמַת־רוּחַ חַיִּים בְּאַפָּיו מִכֹּל אֲשֶׁר בֶּחָרָבָה מֵתוּ׃

He blotted out every living thing that was on the face of the ground, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens. They were blotted out from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ark.
→(wayyimah et kal hayqum ašer al pene haadamah meadam ad behemah ad remeš wead owpf haššamayim wayyimmahu min haares wayišaer ak noah waašer ittow battebah) וַיִּמַח אֶת־כָּל־הַיְקוּם ׀ אֲשֶׁר ׀ עַל־פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה מֵאָדָם עַד־בְּהֵמָה עַד־רֶמֶשׂ וְעַד־עֹוף הַשָּׁמַיִם וַיִּמָּחוּ מִן־הָאָרֶץ וַיִשָּׁאֶר אַךְ־נֹחַ וַאֲשֶׁר אִתֹּו בַּתֵּבָה׃

And the waters prevailed on the earth 150 days.
→(wayyigberu hammayim al haares hamiššim umeat yowm) וַיִּגְבְּרוּ הַמַּיִם עַל־הָאָרֶץ חֲמִשִּׁים וּמְאַת יֹום׃

But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided.
→(wayyizkor elohim et noah weet kal hahayyah weet kal habbemah ašer ittow battebah wayaaber elohim ruah al haares wayyašokku hammayim ) וַיִּזְכֹּר אֱלֹהִים אֶת־נֹחַ וְאֵת כָּל־הַחַיָּה וְאֶת־כָּל־הַבְּהֵמָה אֲשֶׁר אִתֹּו בַּתֵּבָה וַיַּעֲבֵר אֱלֹהִים רוּחַ עַל־הָאָרֶץ וַיָּשֹׁכּוּ הַמָּיִם׃

The fountains of the deep and the windows of the heavens were closed, the rain from the heavens was restrained,
→(wayyissakeru mayenot tehowm waarubbot haššamayim wayikkale haggešem min haššamayim) וַיִּסָּכְרוּ מַעְיְנֹת תְּהֹום וַאֲרֻבֹּת הַשָּׁמָיִם וַיִּכָּלֵא הַגֶּשֶׁם מִן־הַשָּׁמָיִם׃

and the waters receded from the earth continually. At the end of 150 days the waters had abated,
→(wayašubu hammayim meal haares halowk wašowb wayyahseru vnho miqseh hamiššim umeat yowm) וַיָּשֻׁבוּ הַמַּיִם מֵעַל הָאָרֶץ הָלֹוךְ וָשֹׁוב וַיַּחְסְרוּ הַמַּיִם מִקְצֵה חֲמִשִּׁים וּמְאַת יֹום׃

and in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat.
→(wattanah hattebah bahodeš haššebii bešibah ašar yowm lahodeš al haré ararat) וַתָּנַח הַתֵּבָה בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִי בְּשִׁבְעָה־עָשָׂר יֹום לַחֹדֶשׁ עַל הָרֵי אֲרָרָט׃

And the waters continued to abate until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.
→(wehammayim hayu halowk wehasowr ad hahodeš haasiri baasiri beehad lahodeš niru raše heharim) וְהַמַּיִם הָיוּ הָלֹוךְ וְחָסֹור עַד הַחֹדֶשׁ הָעֲשִׂירִי בָּעֲשִׂירִי בְּאֶחָד לַחֹדֶשׁ נִרְאוּ רָאשֵׁי הֶהָרִים׃

At the end of forty days Noah opened the window of the ark that he had made.
→(wayhi miqqes arbaim yowm wayyiptah noah et halown hattebah ašer asah) וַיְהִי מִקֵּץ אַרְבָּעִים יֹום וַיִּפְתַּח נֹחַ אֶת־חַלֹּון הַתֵּבָה אֲשֶׁר עָשָׂה׃

and sent forth a raven. It went to and fro until the waters were dried up from the earth.
→(wayšallah et haoreb wayyese yasow wasow wašowb ad yebošet hammayim meal haares) וַיְשַׁלַּח אֶת־הָעֹרֵב וַיֵּצֵא יָצֹוא וָשֹׁוב עַד־יְבֹשֶׁת הַמַּיִם מֵעַל הָאָרֶץ׃

Then he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters had subsided from the face of the ground.
→(wayšalah et hayyownah meittow lirowt haqalu hammayim meal pene haadamah) וַיְשַׁלַּח אֶת־הַיֹּונָה מֵאִתֹּו לִרְאֹות הֲקַלּוּ הַמַּיִם מֵעַל פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה׃

But the dove found no place to set her foot, and she returned to him to the ark, for the waters were still on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her and brought her into the ark with him.
→(welo maseah hayyownah manowah lekap raglah wattašab elaw el hattebah ki mayim al pené kal haares wayyišlah yadow wayyiqqaheha wayyabe otah elaw el hattebah ) וְלֹא־מָצְאָה הַיֹּונָה מָנֹוחַ לְכַף־רַגְלָהּ וַתָּשָׁב אֵלָיו אֶל־הַתֵּבָה כִּי־מַיִם עַל־פְּנֵי כָל־הָאָרֶץ וַיִּשְׁלַח יָדֹו וַיִּקָּחֶהָ וַיָּבֵא אֹתָהּ אֵלָיו אֶל־הַתֵּבָה׃

He waited another seven days, and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark.
→(wayahel owd šibat yamim aherim wayyosep šallah et hayyownah min hattebah) וַיָּחֶל עֹוד שִׁבְעַת יָמִים אֲחֵרִים וַיֹּסֶף שַׁלַּח אֶת־הַיֹּונָה מִן־הַתֵּבָה׃

And the dove came back to him in the evening, and behold, in her mouth was a freshly plucked olive leaf. So Noah knew that the waters had subsided from the earth.
→(wattabo elaw hayownah leet ereb wehinneh aleh zayit tarap bepiha wayeda noha ki qalu hammayim meal haares) וַתָּבֹא אֵלָיו הַיֹּונָה לְעֵת עֶרֶב וְהִנֵּה עֲלֵה־זַיִת טָרָף בְּפִיהָ וַיֵּדַע נֹחַ כִּי־קַלּוּ הַמַּיִם מֵעַל הָאָרֶץ׃

Then he waited another seven days and sent forth the dove, and she did not return to him anymore.
→(wayyiyael owd šibat yamim aherim wayšalah et hayyownah welo yasepah šub elaw owd) וַיִּיָּחֶל עֹוד שִׁבְעַת יָמִים אֲחֵרִים וַיְשַׁלַּח אֶת־הַיֹּונָה וְלֹא־יָסְפָה שׁוּב־אֵלָיו עֹוד׃

In the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried from off the earth. And Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and behold, the face of the ground was dry.
→(wayhi beahat wešeš meowt šanah barišown beehrad lahodeš harebu hammayim meal haares wayyasar noah et mikseh hattebah wayyar wehinneh harebu peni ahedam ) וַיְהִי בְּאַחַת וְשֵׁשׁ־מֵאֹות שָׁנָה בָּרִאשֹׁון בְּאֶחָד לַחֹדֶשׁ חָרְבוּ הַמַּיִם מֵעַל הָאָרֶץ

(ubahodeš haššeni bešibah weesrim yowm lehodeš yabešah haares) וּבַחֹדֶשׁ הַשֵּׁנִי בְּשִׁבְעָה וְעֶשְׂרִים יֹום לַחֹדֶשׁ יָבְשָׁה הָאָרֶץ׃
→In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth had dried out.

Then God said to Noah,
→ (wayydaber elohim el noah lemor) וַיְדַבֵּר אֱלֹהִים אֶל־נֹחַ לֵאמֹר׃

“Go out from the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.
→(se min hattebah attah weišteka ubaneka uneše baneka ittak) צֵא מִן־הַתֵּבָה אַתָּה וְאִשְׁתְּךָ וּבָנֶיךָ וּנְשֵׁי־בָנֶיךָ אִתָּךְ׃

Bring out with you every living thing that is with you of all flesh—birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth—that they may swarm on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.”
→(kal hahayyah ašer itteka mikkal basar baowp ubabehemah ubekal haremeš haromeš al haares howse hayse ittak wešaresu baares uparu weraby al haares) כָּל־הַחַיָּה אֲשֶׁר־אִתְּךָ מִכָּל־בָּשָׂר בָּעֹוף וּבַבְּהֵמָה וּבְכָל־הָרֶמֶשׂ הָרֹמֵשׂ עַל־הָאָרֶץ הַיְצֵא ק אִתָּךְ וְשָׁרְצוּ בָאָרֶץ וּפָרוּ וְרָבוּ עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃

So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him.
→(wayyese noah ubanaw weištow uneše banaw itow) וַיֵּצֵא־נֹחַ וּבָנָיו וְאִשְׁתֹּו וּנְשֵׁי־בָנָיו אִתֹּו׃

Every beast, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out by families from the ark.
→(kal hahayyah kal haremeš wekal haowp kol rowmeě al haares lemisperotehem yasehu min hattebah ) כָּל־הַחַיָּה כָּל־הָרֶמֶשׂ וְכָל־הָעֹוף כֹּל רֹומֵשׂ עַל־הָאָרֶץ לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתֵיהֶם יָצְאוּ מִן־הַתֵּבָה׃

Then Noah built an altar to the LORD and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. -(wayyiben noah mizbea yahwah wayiqah mikol habehema hattehowrah umikolbhaowp hattahor wayyaal olot bamizbeah) וַיִּבֶן נֹחַ מִזְבֵּחַ לַיהוָה וַיִּקַּח מִכֹּל ׀ הַבְּהֵמָה הַטְּהֹורָה וּמִכֹּל הָעֹוף הַטָּהֹר וַיַּעַל עֹלֹת בַּמִּזְבֵּחַ׃

And when the LORD smelled the pleasing aroma, the LORD said in his heart, “I will never again cursea the ground because of man, for the intention of man’s heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done.
→(wayyarah yahawe et reah hannihoah wayomwer yahwe el libbow lo osip leqalel owd et haadamah baabur haadam ki yešer leb haadamra minneuraw welo osip owd lehakkowt et kal hay kaašer asiti) וַיָּרַח יְהוָה אֶת־רֵיחַ הַנִּיחֹחַ וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל־לִבֹּו לֹא־אֹסִף לְקַלֵּל עֹוד אֶת־הָאֲדָמָה בַּעֲבוּר הָאָדָם כִּי יֵצֶר לֵב הָאָדָם רַע מִנְּעֻרָיו וְלֹא־אֹסִף עֹוד לְהַכֹּות אֶת־כָּל־חַי כַּאֲשֶׁר עָשִׂיתִי׃

While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”
→(od kal yemi haares zera weqasir weqor wahom weqayis wahorep weyowm welaylah lo yišbotu) עֹד כָּל־יְמֵי הָאָרֶץ זֶרַע וְקָצִיר וְקֹר וָחֹם וְקַיִץ וָחֹרֶף וְיֹום וָלַיְלָה לֹא יִשְׁבֹּתוּ׃

(waybarek elohim et noah weet banaw wayyomer lahem peru urebu umilu et haares) וַיְבָרֶךְ אֱלֹהִים אֶת־נֹחַ וְאֶת־בָּנָיו וַיֹּאמֶר לָהֶם פְּרוּ וּרְבוּ וּמִלְאוּ אֶת־הָאָרֶץ׃
→And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.

The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered.
→(umowraakem wehitakem yihyeh al kal hayyat haares weal kal owp haššamayim bekol ašer tirmoš haadamah ubekal dege hayyam beyedkem nitanu ) וּמֹורַאֲכֶם וְחִתְּכֶם יִהְיֶה עַל כָּל־חַיַּת הָאָרֶץ וְעַל כָּל־עֹוף הַשָּׁמָיִם בְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר תִּרְמֹשׂ הָאֲדָמָה וּבְכָל־דְּגֵי הַיָּם בְּיֶדְכֶם נִתָּנוּ׃

Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.
→(kal remeš ašer hu hay lakem yihyeh leaklah keyereq eseb natati lakem et kol) כָּל־רֶמֶשׂ אֲשֶׁר הוּא־חַי לָכֶם יִהְיֶה לְאָכְלָה כְּיֶרֶק עֵשֶׂב נָתַתִּי לָכֶם אֶת־כֹּל׃

But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
→ (ak basar benapšow damow lo tokelu) אַךְ־בָּשָׂר בְּנַפְשֹׁו דָמֹו לֹא תֹאכֵלוּ׃

And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man.
→וְאַךְ אֶת־דִּמְכֶם לְנַפְשֹׁתֵיכֶם אֶדְרֹשׁ מִיַּד כָּל־חַיָּה אֶדְרְשֶׁנּוּ וּמִיַּד הָאָדָם מִיַּד אִישׁ אָחִיו אֶדְרֹשׁ אֶת־נֶפֶשׁ הָאָדָם׃ (weak et dimkem lenapšotekem edroš miyad kal hayyah adrešenu

“Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image.
→(šopek dam haadam baadam damow yiššapek ki beselem elohim asah et haadam) שֹׁפֵךְ דַּם הָאָדָם בָּאָדָם דָּמֹו יִשָּׁפֵךְ כִּי בְּצֶלֶם אֱלֹהִים עָשָׂה אֶת־הָאָדָם׃

And you, be fruitful and multiply, increase greatly on the earth and multiply in it.”
→(weatem peru urebu širsu baares urebu bah) וְאַתֶּם פְּרוּ וּרְבוּ שִׁרְצוּ בָאָרֶץ וּרְבוּ־בָהּ׃

Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him,
→ (wayomer elohim el noah weel banaw ittow lemor) וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים אֶל־נֹחַ וְאֶל־בָּנָיו אִתֹּו לֵאמֹר׃

“Behold, I establish my covenant with you and your offspring after you,
→(waani hinni meqim et beriti ittekem weet zarakem aharekem ) וַאֲנִי הִנְנִי מֵקִים אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אִתְּכֶם וְאֶת־זַרְעֲכֶם אַחֲרֵיכֶם׃

and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the livestock, and every beast of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark; it is for every beast of the earth.
→(weet kal nepeš ahayyah ašer ittekem baowp babbehemah ubekal hayyat haares ittekem mikkol yosee hattebah lekol hayyat haares ) וְאֵת כָּל־נֶפֶשׁ הַחַיָּה אֲשֶׁר אִתְּכֶם בָּעֹוף בַּבְּהֵמָה וּבְכָל־חַיַּת הָאָרֶץ אִתְּכֶם מִכֹּל יֹצְאֵי הַתֵּבָה לְכֹל חַיַּת הָאָרֶץ׃

I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
→(wahaqimoti et beriti ittekem welo yikkaret kal basar owd mimme hammabul welo yihyeh owd mabbul lešahet haares) וַהֲקִמֹתִי אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אִתְּכֶם וְלֹא־יִכָּרֵת כָּל־בָּשָׂר עֹוד מִמֵּי הַמַּבּוּל וְלֹא־יִהְיֶה עֹוד מַבּוּל לְשַׁחֵת הָאָרֶץ׃

And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations:
→(wayyomer elohim zot owt habberit ašer ani noten beni ubenekem uben kal nepeš hayyah ašer ittekem ledorot owlam) וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים זֹאת אֹות־הַבְּרִית אֲשֶׁר־אֲנִי נֹתֵן בֵּינִי וּבֵינֵיכֶם וּבֵין כָּל־נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה אֲשֶׁר אִתְּכֶם לְדֹרֹת עֹולָם׃

I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
→(et qašli natati beanan wehayetah leowt berit beni uben haares) אֶת־קַשְׁתִּי נָתַתִּי בֶּעָנָן וְהָיְתָה לְאֹות בְּרִית בֵּינִי וּבֵין הָאָרֶץ׃

When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds,
→(wehayah beanni anan al haares weniratah haqešet beanan) וְהָיָה בְּעַנְנִי עָנָן עַל־הָאָרֶץ וְנִרְאֲתָה הַקֶּשֶׁת בֶּעָנָן׃

I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.
→(wezakarti el beriti ašer beni u benekem uben kal nepeš hayah bekal basar welo yihyeh owd hammayim lemabul lešahet kal basar) וְזָכַרְתִּי אֶת־בְּרִיתִי אֲשֶׁר בֵּינִי וּבֵינֵיכֶם וּבֵין כָּל־נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה בְּכָל־בָּשָׂר וְלֹא־יִהְיֶה עֹוד הַמַּיִם לְמַבּוּל לְשַׁחֵת כָּל־בָּשָׂר׃

When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”
→(wehayetah haqqešet beanan ureitiha lizkor berit owlam ben elohim uben kal nepeš hayah bekal basar ašer al haares) וְהָיְתָה הַקֶּשֶׁת בֶּעָנָן וּרְאִיתִיהָ לִזְכֹּר בְּרִית עֹולָם בֵּין אֱלֹהִים וּבֵין כָּל־נֶפֶשׁ חַיָּה בְּכָל־בָּשָׂר אֲשֶׁר עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃

God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.”
→(wayyomer elohim el noah zot owt habberit ašer haqimoti beni uben kal basar ašer al haares) וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים אֶל־נֹחַ זֹאת אֹות־הַבְּרִית אֲשֶׁר הֲקִמֹתִי בֵּינִי וּבֵין כָּל־בָּשָׂר אֲשֶׁר עַל־הָאָרֶץ׃

The sons of Noah who went forth from the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.)
→(wayyihu bene noah hayyoseim min hattebah šem weham wayapet weham hu abi kenaan) וַיִּהְיוּ בְנֵי־נֹחַ הַיֹּצְאִים מִן־הַתֵּבָה שֵׁם וְחָם וָיָפֶת וְחָם הוּא אֲבִי כְנָעַן׃

These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the people of the whole earth were dispersed.
→(šelošah elleh bene noah umeeleh napesah kal haares) שְׁלֹשָׁה אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי־נֹחַ וּמֵאֵלֶּה נָפְצָה כָל־הָאָרֶץ׃

Noah began to be a man of the soil, and he planted a vineyard.
→(wayyahel noah iš haadamah wayyita karem) וַיָּחֶל נֹחַ אִישׁ הָאֲדָמָה וַיִּטַּע כָּרֶם׃

He drank of the wine and became drunk and lay uncovered in his tent.
→(wayyešet min hayyayin wayyiškar wayitgal betowk aholoh) וַיֵּשְׁתְּ מִן־הַיַּיִן וַיִּשְׁכָּר וַיִּתְגַּל בְּתֹוךְ אָהֳלֹה ׃

And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brothers outside.
→(wayyar ham abi kanan et erwat abiw wayyagged lišne ehaw bahus) וַיַּרְא חָם אֲבִי כְנַעַן אֵת עֶרְוַת אָבִיו וַיַּגֵּד לִשְׁנֵי־אֶחָיו בַּחוּץ׃

Then Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and walked backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned backward, and they did not see their father’s nakedness.
→(wayyiqqah šem wayepet et haššimlah wayyašimu al šekem šenehem wayyeleku ahorannit waykassu et erwat abihem upenehem ahorannit weerwat abihem lo rau) וַיִּקַּח שֵׁם וָיֶפֶת אֶת־הַשִּׂמְלָה וַיָּשִׂימוּ עַל־שְׁכֶם שְׁנֵיהֶם וַיֵּלְכוּ אֲחֹרַנִּית וַיְכַסּוּ אֵת עֶרְוַת אֲבִיהֶם וּפְנֵיהֶם אֲחֹרַנִּית וְעֶרְוַת אֲבִיהֶם לֹא רָאוּ׃

When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him,
→ (wayyiqes noah miyenow wayyeda et ašer ašah low benow haqqatan) וַיִּיקֶץ נֹחַ מִיֵּינֹו וַיֵּדַע אֵת אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂה־לֹו בְּנֹו הַקָּטָן׃

he said, “Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be to his brothers.”
→ (wayyomer arur kenaan ebed abadim yihyeh leehaw ) וַיֹּאמֶר אָרוּר כְּנָעַן עֶבֶד עֲבָדִים יִהְיֶה לְאֶחָיו׃

May God enlarge Japheth, and let him dwell in the tents of Shem, and let Canaan be his servant.”
→(wayyomer baruk yahweh elohe šem wihi kenaan ebed lamow) וַיֹּאמֶר בָּרוּךְ יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵי שֵׁם וִיהִי כְנַעַן עֶבֶד לָמֹו׃

May God enlarge Japheth, and let him dwell in the tents of Shem, and let Canaan be his servant.”
→(yapt elohim leyepet weyiškon beahole šem wihi kenaan ebed lamow) יַפְתְּ אֱלֹהִים לְיֶפֶת וְיִשְׁכֹּן בְּאָהֳלֵי־שֵׁם וִיהִי כְנַעַן עֶבֶד לָמֹו׃

After the flood Noah lived 350 years.
→(wayhi noah ahar hammabul šeloš meowt šanah wahamiššim šanah ) וַיְחִי־נֹחַ אַחַר הַמַּבּוּל שְׁלֹשׁ מֵאֹות שָׁנָה וַחֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה׃

All the days of Noah were 950 years, and he died.
→(wayyihyu kal yeme noah teša meowt šanah wahamiššim šanah wayamot) וַיִּהְיוּ כָּל־יְמֵי־נֹחַ תְּשַׁע מֵאֹות שָׁנָה וַחֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה וַיָּמֹת׃

These are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood.
→(weeleh towldot bene noah šem ham wayapet wayyiwaledu lahem banim ahar hammabul) וְאֵלֶּה תֹּולְדֹת בְּנֵי־נֹחַ שֵׁם חָם וָיָפֶת וַיִּוָּלְדוּ לָהֶם בָּנִים אַחַר הַמַּבּוּל׃

The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras
→(bene zepet gomer umagowg umaday weyawan wetubal umešek wetiras ) בְּנֵי יֶפֶת גֹּמֶר וּמָגֹוג וּמָדַי וְיָוָן וְתֻבָל וּמֶשֶׁךְ וְתִירָס׃

(ubene gomer aškenaz weripat wetogarmah) וּבְנֵי גֹּמֶר אַשְׁכֲּנַז וְרִיפַת וְתֹגַרְמָה׃
→The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

(ubene yawan ališah wataršiš kittim wedodanim) וּבְנֵי יָוָן אֱלִישָׁה וְתַרְשִׁישׁ כִּתִּים וְדֹדָנִים׃
→Die Kinder von Javan sind diese: Elisa, Tharsis, die Chittiter und die Dodaniter.

(meeleh nipredu iye haggowyim bearsotam iš lilšonow lemišpehotam begowyehem) מֵאֵלֶּה נִפְרְדוּ אִיֵּי הַגֹּויִם בְּאַרְצֹתָם אִישׁ לִלְשֹׁנֹו לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָז בְּגֹויֵהֶם׃
→Von diesen sind ausgebreitet die Inseln der Heiden in ihren Ländern, jegliche nach ihren Sprachen, Geschlechtern und Leuten.

(ubene ham kuš umisrayim uput ukenaan) וּבְנֵי חָם כּוּשׁ וּמִצְרַיִם וּפוּט וּכְנָעַן׃
→The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan.

The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.
→(ubene kuš seba wehawilah wesabtah weramah wesabtah waramah wesabteka ubene ramah šeba udedan) וּבְנֵי כוּשׁ סְבָא וַחֲוִילָה וְסַבְתָּה וְרַעְמָה וְסַבְתְּכָא וּבְנֵי רַעְמָה שְׁבָא וּדְדָן׃

Cush fathered Nimrod; he was the first on earth to be a mighty man.
→(wekuš yalad el nimrod hu hehel lihyowt gibbbor baares ) וְכוּשׁ יָלַד אֶת־נִמְרֹד הוּא הֵחֵל לִהְיֹות גִּבֹּר בָּאָרֶץ׃

He was a mighty hunter before the LORD. Therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the LORD.”
→(hu hayah gibbor sayid lipne yahaweh al ken yeamar kenimrod gibboer sayid lipne Yahaweh) הוּא־הָיָה גִבֹּר־צַיִד לִפְנֵי יְהוָה עַל־כֵּן יֵאָמַר כְּנִמְרֹד גִּבֹּור צַיִד לִפְנֵי יְהוָה׃

The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
→(wattehi rešit mamlaktow babel weerek weakkad wekalneh beeres šinar) וַתְּהִי רֵאשִׁית מַמְלַכְתֹּו בָּבֶל וְאֶרֶךְ וְאַכַּד וְכַלְנֵה בְּאֶרֶץ שִׁנְעָר׃

From that land he went into Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, and Calah.
→(min haares hahiw yasa ašur wayyiben et nineweh weet rehobot ir weet kalah) מִן־הָאָרֶץ הַהִוא יָצָא אַשּׁוּר וַיִּבֶן אֶת־נִינְוֵה וְאֶת־רְחֹבֹת עִיר וְאֶת־כָּלַח׃

Resen between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city.
→(weet resen ben nineweh uben kalah hi hair haggedolah) וְאֶת־רֶסֶן בֵּין נִינְוֵה וּבֵין כָּלַח הִוא הָעִיר הַגְּדֹלָה׃

Egypt fathered Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim
→(umisrayim yalad et ludim weet anamim weet lehabim weet naptuhim ) וּמִצְרַיִם יָלַד אֶת־לוּדִים וְאֶת־עֲנָמִים וְאֶת־לְהָבִים וְאֶת־נַפְתֻּחִים׃

Pathrusim, Casluhim (from whom the Philistines came), and Caphtorim.
→ וְאֶת־פַּתְרֻסִים וְאֶת־כַּסְלֻחִים אֲשֶׁר יָצְאוּ מִשָּׁם פְּלִשְׁתִּים וְאֶת־כַּפְתֹּרִים׃
